The new USCIS myE-Verify website has something of value for everyone who works in the United States.

We think it should be easy for every worker and job seeker to understand their rights and roles in the E-Verify process. After all, E-Verify is used at more than 1.8 million hiring sites. The next time you start a new job, your new employer may verify your Form I-9 information in E-Verify. Here is what myE-Verify offers nationwide right now:
  • Self Check: Anyone in the United States over the age of 16 can use Self Check to confirm his or her own employment eligibility. After you enter the requested information, Self Check compares it with various government records to determine your work eligibility in the United States.
  • myResources: Offers a wealth of information for employees, including the Employee Rights Toolkit, Your Rights with myE-Verify, Your Employer’s Responsibilities with myE-Verify and USCIS’s commitment to protecting your privacy.
myE-Verify also introduced two new services, myE-Verify accounts and Self Lock, which are currently available to residents of 21 states and the District of Columbia. Your myE-Verify account gives you access to Self Lock, a feature that prevents misuse of your Social Security number in E-Verify. Subscribe to the site to receive an alert when USCIS makes these services available to more states.

Remember, you don’t need to create a myE-Verify account to use Self Check and browse myResources. Please visit myE-Verify today and tell us what you think of the site by commenting on this blog.
