We observe Veterans Day on Nov. 11 to honor past and present members of the United States armed forces. Here at USCIS, we want to celebrate everyone who chose to serve in our military and to become U.S. citizens. Participating is as simple as 1-2-3!
  1. Take a photo of yourself holding a sign with the following information (to protect your privacy, please don’t include your name):
    1. Military branch;
    2. Years you served;
    3. Your country of birth; and
    4. Year you were naturalized.
  • If you have a relative or friend who was a naturalized veteran but has died, you can hold a photo of that person and a sign with their information. Remember - don’t include their name.
  • When you share a photo with us, you give us permission to use it. However, you still own the copyright.
  1. Share the photo on:
    1. Twitter using the hashtags #immigrantvet and #newUScitizen; or
    2. Our Facebook post inviting photos
  1. We’ll share your photos using our Twitter and Facebook accounts. We’ll also put together an album on our Facebook page and look for other ways to honor you.
Be sure to check out our blog series featuring interviews with naturalized USCIS employees who are veterans.  We’ll kick it off on Nov. 9 with a post about the special military citizenship process.

To join the conversation on Twitter and other social media in celebration of Veterans Day, use #immigrantvet and #newUScitizen. Thanks for participating!
