U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offers many different naturalization preparation resources for citizenship applicants and teachers.
We also fund citizenship preparation programs and hold information sessions for immigrants to learn about naturalization eligibility, testing, and citizenship rights and responsibilities.
In addition, we work to make the public aware of immigration services scams and the unauthorized practice of immigration law. Remember: All USCIS forms, including Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, are available for free.

Citizenship Resource Center

Our Office of Citizenship’s Citizenship Resource Center at uscis.gov/citizenship contains eligibility information and free study materials for the English test and for the civics test.
Other resources include a civics practice test available online in English and Spanish and a search tool to find the nearest English and citizenship classes.

Citizenship and Integration Grant Program

On March 2, 2016, we began accepting applications for two competitive funding opportunities under the Citizenship and Integration Grant Program. Both funding opportunities aim to prepare permanent residents for naturalization and promote civic integration through increased knowledge of English, U.S. history and civics.

Through these two funding opportunities, we will offer up to $10 million in competitive funding for citizenship preparation programs in communities across the country. Applications are due by April 22, 2016.

Since the Citizenship and Integration Grant Program began in fiscal year 2009, USCIS has awarded approximately $53 million through 262 grants to immigrant-serving organizations that have provided citizenship preparation services to more than 138,000 permanent residents in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
